Last year, SanTan Brewing Company was involved in a well-publicized battle with Arizona State University over the name of the downtown Chandler brewery’s Sun Devil Ale (which eventually was renamed Devil’s Ale).
Now SanTan is battling giant Boston Beer Company, the largest American-owned brewery in the United States, which claims the Chandler brewery’s beer glasses are too similar to its Samuel Adams Boston lager glasses.
Boston Beer has asked the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C., to halt the importation and sale of the SanTan glasses, made in China and imported by Chandler’s di Sciacca glass shop.
