More than 200 beers will be featured at the 23rd annual Great Arizona Beer Festival, which takes place Saturday at Tempe Beach Park.
The festival, which has been shortened from two days, has fallen out of favor with some in the Arizona beer community.
A number of brewers – including Four Peaks, Papago, Barrio and Nimbus – no longer participate. The brewers say it’s too difficult to work with Sun Sounds, the charity that hosts the fest.
Some festival-goers also have cited the festival’s proximity to ASU for what’s described as a frat-party atmosphere.
