Barrio Cafe chef-owner Silvana Salcido Esparza has confirmed the news that MXSW broke four days ago – that the acclaimed Mexican restaurant is moving into the former GrainBelt GrillHouse building in Gilbert.
Barrio Cafe will share the building with a new Postino Winecafe location.
Unlike her Phoenix restaurant, Esparza says the Gilbert restaurant will have an “urban style” with a 2,000-square-foot dining room, a 2,000-square-foot patio and a pink 700-square-foot indoor-outdoor bar.
As previously reported, she expects to open in Gilbert by Thanksgiving.
