Whole Foods Market is launching a film festival in April to celebrate Earth Month. Do Something Reel, featuring six films dealing with environmental and food issues, will be screened in 70 cities, including April 16-17 at Madcap Theaters in Tempe:

Vanishing of the Bees: Ellen Page narrates a cautionary tale revealing the mystery of the disappearing bees. (4 p.m.)
Bag It: An average American decides to take a closer look at our cultural love affair with plastics. (6 p.m.)
Planeat: Scientists, farmers and chefs promote the medical and environmental benefits of vegetables. (8 p.m.)
Sunday, April 17
Lunch Line: Six kids from a tough Chicago neighborhood set out to fix school lunch – and wind up at the White House. (4 p.m.)
On Coal River: West Virginia residents transform from so-called victims to experts on mountaintop removal. (6 p.m.)
Urban Roots: A group of Detroiters work tirelessly to fulfill their vision for locally grown, sustainably farmed food. (8 p.m.)
