Dining critic Michele Lauding may have left New Times last week, but she’s still breaking dining news via Twitter, such as this last night:
Today, AZ Central confirms that chef Payton Curry, formerly of Caffe Boa, has signed a three-month lease at Phoenix’s Welcome Diner while he looks for his new restaurant space.
Curry plans to offer dinner three nights a week – Sundays through Tuesdays – at the tiny diner, which has just nine seats inside and 16 on the patio. No reservations will be accepted.
He’ll also do dinner on First Fridays, starting next Friday, April 1. For those occasions, he’ll invite Valley food trucks to use his parking lot.
