First look: BLD

BLD – an acronym for Breakfast Lunch Dinner – is the new all-day restaurant from the owners of Chandler fine-dining restaurant Cork. Not only is it much more casual than its older sibling, it’s also much less expensive. Most menu items are less than $10 for lunch and and $15 for dinner.

Despite the prices, don’t expect to compromise on quality ingredients, including organic chicken, Mesa Ranch beef and locally made Crave ice cream. Most of the rest of the menu – from cured meats to meatballs to onion rings to hummus – is made in-house.

      • Fried PB&J: Thick-cut sourdough, peanut butter, strawberry jam, whipped cream ($8)
      • Green chili pork tostada: Slow-braised pork shoulder, green chili sauce, pico de gallo, cotija, fried eggs ($9)

      • Five-ham sandwich: With coleslaw, sweet-hot mustard sauce, fresh mozzarella ($8 with side)
      • Hot roast beef sandwich (served wet or dry): With marinated onions, grilled mushrooms, arugula, horseradish dressing, focaccia bread ($10)
      • Build-your-own cheeseburger ($9 with side)
      • Build-your-own grilled cheese sandwich ($7 with side)
      • Side options: French fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, house-made potato chips, hummus, babaganoush, 3-bean salad, Caprese salad, pineapple cole slaw, fresh fruit, mac ‘n’ cheese

      • Build-your-own entrees (with 2 sides): Herb chicken breast ($13), marinated pork chop ($14), braised short rib ($13), fish of the day ($15), BLD meatloaf ($14), flat-iron steak ($15), grilled ahi au Poivre ($16), Mesa Ranch 8oz filet ($18)
      • Side options: Fresh fruit. chips, macaroni salad, cottage cheese, babaganoush, bean salad, hummus, onion rings, asparagus, broccoli, Boursin mash, green beans, garlic spinach, zucchini, pineapple slaw, Caprese salad, sweet potato fries, French fries, sautéed mushrooms, mac ‘n’ cheese
