Cowboy Ciao owner Peter Kasperski (left) and Acme Wine Marketing owner Jim Kopp (right) will compete in a Sommelier Showdown at 7 tonight at Cowboy Ciao.
For $65 (plus tax and tip), diners can enjoy five food courses paired with 10 wines chosen by Kasperski and Kopp. Diners then can vote on who made the better wine choices.
The courses:
- Seared sea scallops with sweet mirin marinade, chilled citrus-roasted cauliflower, roast corn/coconut cream sauce.
- Fried pork cheeks with micro cilantro salad, pickled sweet jalapenos, grilled cotija cheese, red chile vinaigrette.
- Pan-seared monkfish with coriander-dusted Indian fry bread, melted leeks, truffled corn.
- Braised short rib with peach/pinot noir-braised, amaretto creme fraiche, fried green onion/sweet potato cake.
- Junk Food: Ding dongs with potato chip/caramel corn.
