Earth Day Picnic will be held Friday in downtown Phoenix

Several Valley community groups are organizing an Earth Day Picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Civic Space Park in downtown Phoenix.

The event, which will feature live music and performing arts, is described as “an opportunity for all local residents to simply meet and eat in the beautiful outdoors.” It’s free and open to the public.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lunch from home or pick up lunch from a local restaurant, food truck or the park’s Fair Trade Café. Blankets are recommended.

Organizers include Slow Food Phoenix, Local First Arizona, Cultural Arts Coalition, Roosevelt Row, ASU Community Engagement and Civic Space Park Collaboration.
