Heart Attack Grill warns N.Y. deli over ‘Instant Heart Attack Sandwich’

By Jess Harter Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Chandler’s Heart Attack Grill is threatening to sue a New York deli over its “Instant Heart Attack Sandwich” (pictured).

The sandwich, offered by 2nd Ave Deli, features a choice of corned beef, pastrami, turkey or salami piled high between two potato pancakes.

The deli also is planning to introduce a “Triple Bypass Sandwich.”

Heart Attack Grill, which “proudly serves unhealthy and overly caloric fare,” says the sandwiches are a rip-off of its signature Triple Bypass Burger.

2nd Ave Deli responded with a press release titled “Kiss My Tuchas” and is asking a federal judge to declare there is no copyright infringement.
