Caffe Boa Bistro closes in east Mesa

Caffe Boa Bistro, the 18-month-old east Mesa spinoff of Mill Avenue stalwart Caffe Boa, has closed, former New Times dining critic Michele Laudig reports.

The bistro, opened by owners Jay and Christine Wisniewski after they hired chef Payton Curry, never really seemed to gain traction with Mesa diners.

Curry (pictured at right at the restaurant) left Boa earlier this year.

It probably didn’t help that Boa Bistro opened next door to D’Vine Bistro, a similar concept that has been a Las Sendas area favorite for nearly a decade.
