Coal Burger makes East Valley debut at Chandler’s Casa Paloma

Coal Burger, a new fast-casual burger concept from Patsy Grimaldi’s pizzeria, opened today at the Casa Paloma shopping center at I-10 and Ray in Chandler.

The environmentally conscious restaurant offers six coal-fired burgers made with Angus beef from Niman Ranch:

  • Classic Coal Burger ($3.99 for quarter-pound, $5.99 for half-pound)
  • Green Chile Burger ($5.99/$7.99)
  • Steak House Burger ($6.99/$8.99)
  • Bacon Cheeseburger ($5.99/$7.99)
  • BBQ Burger ($5.99/$7.99, pictured)
  • Bacon Blue Burger ($6.29/$8.29)

The menu also includes two chicken sandwiches (made with hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken), a veggie burger and four salads. Fries are cooked in antioxidant-rich rice bran oil.

Instead of Coke or Pepsi products, fountain drinks are from Boylan. Vintage soda flavors include cane cola, black cherry, root beer and orange.

Gelato milkshakes come in flavors like black and white, banana-coconut and hazelnut-chocolate.

Bottled beer and wines by the glass also are available.

The Chandler location, on the southwest corner of 56th Street and Ray, is the Valley’s second Coal Burger. The first opened earlier this year in north Scottsdale. There’s also a location in Texas.
