Well, date shake fans, your annual wait is over.
The medjool dates from neighboring Agritopia were harvested this week, cleaned Friday and delivered to the Gilbert restaurant last night.
Date shakes, while the supply lasts, are $3.99 – the same price as JFG’s vanilla, chocolate and strawberry shakes.
Medjool dates, for the uninitiated, are considered the king of the 50 or so varieties of dates cultivated worldwide because of their large size, sweetness and texture.
Traditionally, dates have been used to treat colds, sore throats and fevers. They also are believed to counteract alcohol intoxiation.
