Market Café reopens at Buttes Resort, introduces basket lunches

Market Cafe Buttes Resort Tempe AZThe Market Café has reopened with a fall seasonal menu at the Buttes Resort in Tempe.

The all-day restaurant, whose mountainside patio affords a spectacular view of Phoenix, offers such cantina-themed dishes as:

  • Three Lettuce Salad with local goat cheese, pepitas & spicy orange vinaigrette
  • Cantina Ensalada with queso fresco, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, tortilla strips & house dressing
  • Latino Crab Bites with avocado puree, pickled cucumber, rajas & braised mustard seed
  • Salmon Vera Cruz with olives, capers, thyme, charred jalapenos, brown rice and white bean salsa fresca
  • Scallops Los Cabos with calabaza puree, charred mango, spicy black beans & shellfish broth
  • Chicken Puebla with potato sausage hash, chipolte hollandaise and golden raisin sauce
  • Steak Gavino served with white cheddar grits, tomatillo sauce, apple-jicama slaw & candied beef shoulder

The café also has introduced basket lunches, which can be eaten at the restaurant or taken to-go. The lunches, which come in a bamboo basket with lid, include a sandwich, soup or salad, dessert and a choice of coffee, tea or soda for $10.95.

The Market Café serves breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (11 a.m. on Sundays) daily, lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily and dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Info: (602) 431-2367.
