Now open: Herb-N Flavors in Tempe

By Jess Harter Thursday, October 6, 2011

Herb-N Garden Tempe AZHerb-N Flavors – that’s the name for now at least – has opened on the southeast corner of Broadway and McClintock in Tempe.

Tunisia-born Sabeur Rouin, best-known for his Doctor Hummus products sold at Valley farmers markets, planned to call his debut restaurant Wild Flavors.

After learning last week the name already is used by another business, he changed it to Yummy Flavors. This week, yet a third name emerged – Herb-n-Flavor  – which has since been tweaked to Herb-N Flavor.

Whatever its moniker, the restaurant offers a still-developing four-page menu (pdf) of soups, pitas, wraps, paninis and pizzas (pictured: lentil soup and papardelle pasta with creamy goat cheese and rosemary sauce).

Due to the last-minute name changes, there is no signage yet. Look for the curved wall of floor-to-ceiling windows behind Burger King.

Herb-N Flavors is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

That pasta looks delicious! I regularly buy his hummus at the Ahwatukee Farmers Market. I can’t wait to try the cafe.
