We were a little curious a couple weeks ago when we were leaving the Hungry Monk just as a couple of gentlemen were walking in … wearing bras and feathered pink boas.
Now we know what was going on: The guys were promoting Saturday’s Hoptoberfest & Chili Cookoff, which will include several events to raise money for breast cancer causes.
The highlight of the fund-raising activities will be a “Bosom Buddies†competition where men will walk a catwalk wearing colorful bras.
Hoptoberfest, which starts at noon in the parking lot on the west wide of the Chandler restaurant, will feature more than 40 IPAs (see partial list) and a chili-making contest. Chili winners will be announced at 5 p.m.
Live music will be provided by Take Cover from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and Blues/Jazz from 5-8 p.m.
Admission is $10, which includes 10 tastings of beer (4 ounces) and/or chili (2 ounces). Additional $1 tickets can be purchased inside the event.
