BLD to offer monthly cooking classes starting this Saturday afternoon

Ehren LitzenbergerBLD is launching Saturday cooking classes with chef Ehren Litzenberger demonstrating how to turn fresh ingredients into sophisticated dishes.

The classes will be held at the Chandler restaurant’s communal table to promote a casual, interactive atmosphere.

The schedule, with the featured dishes, so far:

“Thanksgiving appetizers with a twist”
(3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19)

  • Cranberry, fig and pinot noir chutney with warm brie and buttered apples
  • Prosciutto wraps. filled with arugula, gorgonzola and currants
  • Butternut squash soup shooters with crispy sage

“Beet this … Chef Ehren proves beets can be great”
(3 p.m. Dec. 10 and Dec. 17)

  • Roasted baby beet salad with goat cheese, arugula, cashews and orange oil
  • Beets carpaccio with burratta, almonds and lemon zest
  • Beet risotto, a dish that will go with almost anything

Cost is $30 per class, which includes a glass of wine, samples of each dish and recipes. Call 480-779-8646 to reserve your spot.
