“Thanksgiving Appetizers with a Twist” was the subject of BLD‘s first monthly cooking class, which was held Saturday afternoon with chef Ehren Litzenberger at the Chandler restaurant.
For $30, the dozen attendees enjoyed glasses of wine, watched the chef prepare three dishes, enjoyed their own portions of all three dishes and received copies of the recipes:
The first appetizer was bruschetta with buttered green apple slices, warm brie and a cranberry-fig-pinot chutney:
Attendees got an up-close look at Litzenberger in action:
The second app was thinly sliced prosciutto wrapped around arugula, gorgonzola and currants:
Litzenberger answered any and all questions, many about turkey:
The final app was a butternut squash soup shooter decorated with a leaf of crispy sage and served in a champagne flute:
As a surprise treat, BLD ended the class with hot cups of mulled wine for everyone (with the recipe to take home):
The next class, “Beet this … Chef Ehren proves beets can be great,†featuring three beet dishes, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 and repeated Dec.17. Reservations: 480-779-8646.
I wish I lived closer, this sounds like so much fun and what a great idea, Chef Ehren. Keep up the good work. Lots of Love.
