I love Thai food. I love beer. So I’m pretty excited Latitude Eight, the excellent Thai restaurant in downtown Chandler, is hosting its first beer dinner Tuesday, Feb. 21, during Arizona Beer Week.
Dubbed “Surf & Turf Redefined,” the menu features five courses, each paired with a beer from SanTan Brewing, which is located just a hundred or so yards away:
- Seared scallop trio with mango puree, red curry, and black bean plum sauce (paired with Sunpot Gold)
- Marinated beef satay with pickled cucumber and paired dipping sauce (Epicenter American amber ale)
- Prik King tiger prawns with spicy ginger curry, green beans, red bell pepper, kaffir limen and saffron rice (Devil’s Ale pale ale)
- Massman braised short rib with spicy peanut curry and jasmine rice (Sex Panther double chocolate porter)
- Flash-fried banana-and-coconut crisp and green tea ice cream (HefeWeizen wheat)
The dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. and costs $35 per person plus tax and tip. Reservations: 480-722-0560.
