Matt Carvalho, former executive chef at RnR in Scottsdale, has taken over the kitchen at Queen Creek Olive Mill‘s Tuscan-inspired eatery del Piero.
The Scottsdale native comes from an Italian-Portuguese family and got his first job at an Italian restaurant at age 14.
He also has served as sous chef at Maestro’s Ocean Club and executive sous chef at Maestro’s steakhouse.
Carvalho already has added several items to the menu at del Piero, which is open for breakfast and lunch daily.
