My Big Fat Greek … fire
It turns out yesterday afternoon’s fire on downtown Tempe’s Mill Avenue, which media first reported at Urban Outfitters, actually was next door at My Big Fat Greek Restaurant.
No one was hurt, but the restaurant will be closed for an unspecified amount of time, according to the Republic.
Free Burger King fries
Perhaps trying to steal some attention from a certain competitor’s Shamrock Shake, Burger King is celebrating St. Patricks Day by giving away free French fries – with green ketchup.
The offer is good for a value-sized fries, and Heinz is providing the food-colored condiment. No purchase in necessary.
The giveaway runs Saturday and Sunday at participating restaurants.
Whole Foods beer class
Rare strong ales are the subject of the weekly Friday night beer class at Whole Foods Chandler. “Instructor” James Swann isn’t releasing the names of the beers, saying it’ll be a “surprise tasting.”
The 7 p.m. class is open to anyone. Cost is $5.
