SanTan Brewing debuts special American Idiot Ale today

By Jess Harter Monday, April 9, 2012

Jesus of Suburbia has been sighted at SanTan Brewing: American Idiot Ale debuts today at the downtown Chandler brewery.

Named for Green Day’s 2004 rock opera album, the limited-edition beer is an extra-hoppy version of SanTan’s flagship Devils Ale, according to brewmaster Anthony Canecchia.

The West Coast Pale Ale was brewed in celebration of “American Idiot,” the Broadway musical based on Green Day’s album. The touring show comes to ASU’s Gammage Auditorium April 24-29.

Ticket-holders for one of the Gammage shows can get special deals at 10 Tempe locations that have the beer:

  • Tavern on Mill
  • Macayo’s
  • Cadillac Ranch
  • Mellow Mushroom
  • Devil’s Advocate
  • Flanny’s Bar & Grill
  • Boulders on Broadway
  • Monti’s La Casa Vieja
  • The Vine (Elliot Road location)
  • Mucho Gusto

American Idiot Ale only will be available through April 29.
