The Hungry Monk will play tribute to the late Pat Tillman by offering a special Red 42 Ale for a week starting this Saturday.
The Chandler restaurant and craft beer bar will donate $1 from every pint to the Pat Tillman Foundation.
Tillman, a football player who wore No. 42 at ASU and went to play for the Arizona Cardinals, died fighting in Afghanistan in 2004.
Red 42 – brewed by Lumberyard in Flagstaff – is described as a big, bold red ale with a light hop bite. It has an ABV of 7.0%.
The beer’s debut on Saturday also is the day of the annual 4.2-mile Pat’s Run in Tempe. Participants can bring their race bib to the Monk for half-off their food bill.
