Wednesday Morning Dish: Monje Azul, Spill the Wine, Hall of Fame

By Jess Harter Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Sleepy Dog Tempe AZTempe brewery Sleepy Dog begins the rollout of its new Monje Azul (Blue Monk) ale at, appropriately enough, Chandler’s Hungry Monk tonight.

Monje Azul, which will be tapped at 5 p.m., is a blonde Belgian ale infused with pure blue agave nectar. It has an ABV of 4.8% and 27 IBUs.

Best of all, craft beers are just $3 at the Monk all day Wednesdays.

Cooking, wine & cheese

Spill the Wine, Eat that Cheese – a chef demo and wine tasting to raise money for the charity Warfighter Sports – takes place at the Mesa Flancer’s at 6:30 tonight.

Culinary Hall of Fame

Congrats to the new inductees into the Arizona Culinary Hall of Fame, announced last night: Nobou Fukuda (chef), Binkley’s (restaurant), and Tammie Coe (pastry chef).
