Today’s the 13th annual Free BBQ Day at Joe’s Real BBQ. The downtown Gilbert smokehouse will give away 5,000-plus meals from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m.
Diners will get their choice of a pulled pork or chicken sandwich along with BBQ pit beans, cole slaw and a beverage. No purchase is necessary. See the details here.
The only catch is you may have to stand in some really long lines, depending on what time you go. (Tip: The shortest lines typically are 2-3 p.m.)
On the plus side, the weather forecast is for a slight break in temperatures. It’s only supposed to be 91 today, as opposed to near 100 the rest of the week.
