Lumberyard IPA from Lumberyard Brewing Company won a gold medal at the Ameri”CAN”Canned Beer Festival competition Saturday. It was the second year in a row the Flagstaff brewery took the India pale ale category.
Grand Canyon Brewing from Williams captured a pair of medals. Its White Water Wheat took silver in the wheat beer category, and its Grand Canyon Pilsner took bronze in the pilsner/light lager category.
The only other Arizona brewery to win a medal was Tempe’s Four Peaks Brewing, whose Sunbru earned the silver in pilsner/light lager.
Chandler’s SanTan Brewing declined to enter the competition since it hosts the festival.
The public portion of Ameri”CAN” takes place this Saturday at its new location – the Scottsdale Civic Center.
