I’m not sure why this has the food media’s collective undies in a bunch today, but Carl’s Jr. is testing an “ice cream burger.”
It’s not what you might think. It’s simply chocolate ice cream between two sugar cookies. The “ketchup,” “mustard” and “lettuce” are flavored icing.
In other words, it’s an ice cream sandwich, not exactly new culinary territory. And hardly worthy of “The burger apocalypse is upon us.”
The $1.99 dessert is being tested at select locations – but only in California.
