Eric “The Red” Denmark scarfed 30.5 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest qualifier at Arizona Mills on Saturday. It was the fourth victory in the annual Tempe contest for the Seattle competitive eater, who easily surpassed his winning total of 25 hot dogs last year. Denmark will compete in the national contest July 4 at New York’s Coney Island.

Michelle Lesco of Tucson successfully defended her women’s title by eating 24 hot dogs.
