By Jess Harter Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Pittsburgh Willy's Chandler AZChandler hot dog shop Pittsburgh Willy’s has introduced a new menu item in honor of one of the Steel City’s most famous athletes. The Franco Harris Dog – named for the Hall of Fame running back who played 12 seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers – features a chicken-based hot dog injected with mozzarella and topped with marinara sauce, asiago cheese, and Italian seasoning.

The specialty dog joins another athlete-inspired creation – the Shane Doan Dog with Canadian bacon, pineapple, and barbecue sauce. It’s named for the Phoenix Coyotes hockey player.

Pittsburgh Willy’s also has launched a new children’s menu called the Wee Willy menu. Children 10 and under eat free for each paid adult meal every day (excluding Sunday breakfast). Additional children can eat for $2.75 apiece.
