Essence Bakery in Tempe begins its annual two-week summer hiatus next week, so stock up on their acclaimed macarons (pictured) this week. This week’s pastry specials from chef/owner Eugenia Theodosopoulos include salted caramel and French chocolate ganache tartes ($5.50) and fresh fruit tartes baked with almond cream frangipan ($5.50). The bakery wil reopen Tuesday, July 17.
