The Valley craft beer community is banding together to help one of its own Wednesday, July 11. SanTan Brewing cellarman James Schmitt was a bystander who was shot in the back while walking his girlfriend to her car in a Mesa parking lot. To raise money for his medical bills, the downtown Chander brewery is donating 100% of proceeds from Schmitt’s favorite dish (buffalo chicken pizza) and beer (Epicenter) Wednesday. Several other breweries have donated raffle prizes, like a New Belgium Fat Tire Cruiser and a rare beer tasting party. Details here.
