Friday: Firestone Walker’s Pivo Pils makes AZ debut with test tasting at Hungry Monk

A couple months ago, MXSW interviewed Dave Walker, one of the owners of Firestone Walker. He mentioned his Paso Robles, Calif., brewery would be releasing a couple of cool new beers this summer: a black rye IPA and a hoppy Czech pilsner.

Well, we’ve already welcomed the first in form of Wookey Jack. And now here comes the second.

Pivo Pils will makes its Arizona debut at 3 p.m. Friday at the Hungry Monk in Chandler. FW is using the test event to get feedback on whether to brew more of the lager, so drinkers will be asked to fill out a short rating sheet.

FW describes Pivo as “crisp with a subtle, soft, malty backbone coupled with a characteristic clean hop bitterness followed by light spicy lemon grass accents.”
