Flancer’s unveils light & healthy menu

Flancer's Gilbert Mesa AZIf you’ve seen Flancer’s owner Jeff Flancer in the past year, you can’t help but notice his leaner physique, which he credits to healthier eating and working out.

Now his quest to eat better is evident at his popular Gilbert and Mesa restaurants, which have introduced a menu of lighter, healthier items.

Longtime customers need not worry – the original menu of delicious sandwiches and pizzas still remains. But what started out as the addition of a few healthy dishes has evolved into the addition of an entire healthy menu from chef Tim Briggs.

Whole wheat pasta dishes come with choice of chicken or spinach and mushrooms, and three different sauces: Red sauce with basil, basil pesto with roasted bell peppers, or olive oil, garlic, parsley, and sun-dried tomatoes.

The pastas come with a salad. Depending on the combo, calorie counts range from 420 to 609.

Five of Flancer’s most popular sandwiches are available in whole-wheat wraps, or even lettuce wraps, instead of bread, and a green-chile mustard dressing replacing ranch. (Pictured: Philly cheese steak wrap)

Pizzas are available on thin, whole-wheat crust – only 612 calories for 10-inch or 788 calories for 12-inch. You can save even more calories by asking for light cheese.
