Nando’s to open Chandler location

Nando’s Mexican Cafe is taking over the short-lived Rancho de Tia Rosa’s location in Chandler.

Tia Rosa’s, a popular east Mesa restaurant, opened the newly constructed building on the northeast corner of Dobson and Germann in April 2011 during an agressive expansion phase that also included another restaurant and a taqueria in Gilbert.

The Chandler location, however, barely got off the ground, closing in September 2011. The Mesa and Gilbert locations remain open.

Locally owned Nando’s, which has restaurants in Gilbert and east Mesa, offers a similar menu of Mexican fare, but at a slightly lower price point.

A manager at Nando’s Mesa location says the Chandler location is expected to open in late November.
