Saturday: E.V.’s 1st food truck court

SuperFarm SuperTruck Mesa AZThe East Valley’s first mobile food court will get a “soft launch” when a half-dozen food trucks congregate in downtown Gilbert from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

Starting next weekend, the food court will take place 5-9 p.m. Fridays, as well as 10-2 Saturdays, in the newly paved parking lot at Gilbert and Vaughn (just north of Oregano’s).

The whole thing is being organized by Superstition Farm‘s Casey Stechnij (pictured above), who says he found an eager partner in the Town of Gilbert.

“We only have one other (regularly scheduled) food truck court in the Valley, ” he says. “Now people who live in the East Valley won’t have to go to downtown Phoenix to experience it.”

The Gilbert court will differ from Phoenix in a noticeable way, Stechnij says.

“(Phoenix) is kinda static. It’s pretty much the same trucks every week,” he says. “In Gilbert, we will have a rotation. People can come every weekend and experience a different food truck.”

Scheduled for Saturday’s soft kickoff are SuperFarm SuperTruck, Udder Delights, Epic Hot Dogs, and newcomers Old Dixie’s and Rockin’ Ray’s.
