Contigo Peru, one of the East Valley’s best ethnic restaurants, will close Sunday, Oct. 28, according to a notice posted on its website.

“It has been a wonderful 3 years and we like to thank all of  our clients for their continued support which it made possible for Monica, myself and my family to make one of our dreams a reality,” writes owner Eddie Burns.

Burns and his wife, Monica Castellano, opened the critically acclaimed Peruvian restaurant on the southwest corner of Guadalupe and Alma School in Mesa in January 2010.

Burns’ former business partner, Jorge Benavente, opened another Peruvian restaurant, Inka Fest, less than a mile away (Guadalupe and Dobson) in January 2011.

Contigo Peru will host a farewell party with live music at 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. Cover is $5, and seating is limited. RSVP: 480-838-7378.
