Mind Over Batter, the Tempe cupcake shop that opened a Gilbert spinoff in April, finally gets around to celebrating the new location’s opening Saturday. From 11 a.m.-4 p.m., MOB will team up with a couple of neighboring businesses to offer a bunch of parking-lot activities.
There will be free cupcake-eating contests every hour, as well as free cupcake decorating. Channel 3’s “Queen of Clean” Linda Cobb will answer questions from noon-12:30. There also will be free hot dogs and cotton candy.
A hair salon will hold a cut-a-thon (haircuts for donations), a florist will teach flower arrangment, and there will be a free photo booth and lots of kids activities. Prizes will be raffled off every 30 minutes.
The Gilbert store is located on the north side of Williams Field, just west of Val Vista (next to Blue 32 Sports Grill).
