Will the third time be the charm for Bar Louie? The national restaurant chain opens its only Arizona location today at Tempe Marketplace.
It’s not Bar Louie’s first foray into the Valley. A Mill Avenue location was a popular Tempe nightlife destination in the late ’90s. Another opened at Glendale’s Westgate Center in 2008, but closed in 2009.
Bar Louie’s decor varies by location, but all feature a menu of oversized sandwiches ($8-$12) and signature cocktails.
Starters range from truffle butter popcorn ($3) to Buffalo-style crispy calamari ($11). Other temptations: verde chicken flatbread ($11), blackberry, orange and brie salad with bacon vinaigrette ($8), and bacon and fried egg sandwich ($8).
The beer list is mainstream – four different kinds of Bud! – but each location is allowed to offer some “regional & seasonal favorites.” See full menu here.
