Art in the Park, a new festival featuring more than 30 fine artists, a food truck court and a beer and wine garden, debuts this weekend in Gilbert.
The event will take place 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday on a six-acre, lakeside greenbelt at The Islands, on the south side of Warner about a quarter-mile east of McQueen (map). Admission and parking is free.
More than 10 food trucks will take part, including Super Farm SuperTruck, Udder Delights, Burgers Amore, Tom’s BBQ Pig Rig, Spice It Up, Island Loco, Old Dixie Kitchen, and Emerson Fry Bread.
There also will be concession stands selling kettle korn, ice cream, homemade Mexican fruit pops, and crepes.
Besides juried artists selling their works in clay, glass, paintings, drawings, mixed media, and photography, there will be live music, a car show, and kids’ crafts.
