Ahwatukee recently welcomed a pair of new restaurants.
The first is Ezekiel’s Restaurant, located in a high-turnover space in the Basha’s plaza near 48th Street and Warner. It specializes in soul food, such as BBQ chicken, ribs and crab cakes. Sides include sweet potato souffle, collard greens, and “church” rice.
Prices are wallet-friendly. Get a chicken or fish sandwich, side, and drink for $5.99. An eight-piece chicken dinner with two sides of cornbread is $10.99.
A mile north near 48th and Elliott, Pacific Gardens has taken over the former Abacus Inn spot. Pacific Gardens bills itself as an Asian bistro and sushi bar.
Abacus Inn, you might remember, abruptly closed last year when numerous customers discovered hundreds of dollars of extra charges on their credit cards.
