Iguana Mack’s is raising money today for Elvis Conaway, a 5-year-old Chandler boy battling a rare form of liver cancer.
Elvis was born in 2007 and diagnosed with hepatablastoma. Ninety percent of his liver was removed at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and his cancer has been in remission for five years.
However, the surgery left scar tissue that’s now blocking his hepatic vain, and Elvis went into acute liver failure this summer and ultimately needs a liver transplant.
Iguana Mack’s will be holding a 50/50 raffle today to raise money for Elvis’ medical costs. The Chandler restaurant also will be donating a portion of all proceeds from today’s sales.
