Raise a pint to Valley’s newest beer fest: Phoenix Brewers Invitational

Phoenix Ale Brewery AZ

Looks like the Valley has a new beer festival. It’s called the Phoenix Brewers Invitational – Get Crafty 2012, and will be held Dec. 7-8 at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix.

The organizers promise “more than 60 craft breweries, live entertainment, beer-related vendors, beer memorabilia, home brewing demonstrations and a wide variety of local foods from some of Arizona’s best food trucks.”

The two-day festival is unusual in that it will be held all day – noon to 10 p.m. – on a Friday and Saturday.

Admission will be free. Beer drinkers will need to purchase a souvenir mug for $10. Beer will be sold for $1 tokens – one token for a 3-ounce sample or four tokens for a 12-ounce serving.

“Beer enthusiasts, including home brewers, consumers and novices, will have a chance to sample and learn about more than 25 styles of craft brews from some of the best brewers from Arizona and across the country,” says event founder Greg Fretz.

There also will be a VIP ticket, which includes a Dec. 6 preview party at Phoenix Ale Brewery (pictured above), where Fretz is owner and brewmaster.
