California beers will be the focus of this week’s Friday Beer Class at Whole Foods Chandler. In fact, this week’s class will be a mega-class – try 10 beers for just $10!
The syllabus: Ballast Point ‘s Victory at Sea & Sculpin; The Bruery’s Autumn Maple & Mischief; Green Flash’s West Coast IPA, Belgian Blonde, and Friendship Brew; Moylan’s Moylander Double IPA & Ryan O’Sullivan Imperial Stout; and Port Brewing’s Hightide.
The highlight, for me, is Victory at Sea, Ballast’s seasonal coffee-vanilla imperial porter with a hefty 10% ABV. It’s earned a rating of 96 on Beer Advocate and 100 on Rate Beer.
The informal tasting, open to anyone 21 and over, starts at 7 p.m.
