After a six-year hiatus, Belgian Festival returns to Papago Brewing on Saturday. The all-day event features Belgian beers and food. And we’re not talking about “Belgian-style” beers – these are true Belgian beers.
The 27 Belgian beers will include Leroy Paulus Oude Bruin and Trois Dames Grande Dame Oude Bruin (Flemish sour brown ales), St. Louis Gueuze Fond (wheat beer), Kasteel Rouge and Scaldis Peche Mel (fruit beers), and Duchesse de Bourgogne (Flanders red ale).
Belgian foods will include carbonade (a beef-and-onion stew cooked in beer) and flammekuek (a wood-fired flatbread pizza with fromage blanc or crème fraîche, thinly sliced onions and lardons).
Doors open at noon.
