SanTan Winter Warmer

For a lot of people, the holiday season begins Thursday with Thanksgiving. For Valley beer drinkers, though, it starts Tuesday with the release of SanTan Brewing‘s Winter Warmer.

The seasonal ale, named the best in Arizona by New Times last year, is based on a traditional English Old Ale recipe and then spiced with ginger and kissed with orange blossom honey.

But don’t let the palate-pleasing flavor fool you – the ruby-brown ale packs a punch at 9.5% alcohol by volume.

As a bonus, every snifter of Winter Warmer is served with homemade ginger snap cookies.

Starting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Winter Warmer will be on tap exclusively at the downtown Chandler pub. It will not be available at Valley restaurants and bars (although I hear a few kegs might make it out for special events).

Winter Warmer is not one of the SanTan seasonals offered in cans, but you will be able to get it in growlers.
