Tempe Festival of the Arts takes place this weekend

The twice-a-year Tempe Festival of the Arts takes place again this weekend. The free, three-day event typically attracts nearly a quarter-million people to downtown’s Mill Avenue.

Besides the art, crafts and music, there will be plenty to eat and drink from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The festival food court will features all the usuals – from Navajo fry bread to Hawaiian noodles to all kins of fried things. Snack vendors throughout the fest will be hawking various popcorn, nut and chocolate products.

A Cottage Edibles & Crafts area will offer soup mixes, jams, dips, salsas, and seasonings.

The Arizona Wine Festival Gardens will showcase a dozen state wineries. Get six tasting tickets and a commemorative tasting glass for $15. Glasses, bottles, and cases of wine will be available for purchase.

The Art of Beer will provide samples from Tempe breweries Four Peaks and Sleepy Dog. Five beer sample tickets will be $10; a glass of beer will be $5.
