Tickets for the 2013 Arizona Strong Beer Festival, the state’s premier beer fest, just went on sale, but if you go to the event’s web page (pictured below) you might be in for a bit of a shock. All presale tickets are listed as sold out.
Don’t worry, though. Jerry Gantt, director of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, says it’s just a computer glitch. Someone apparently updated the dates on last year’s page but forgot to remove the sellout notices.
The fest, which kicks off Arizona Beer Week, will take place noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix.
Click on the “Buy Tickets” link and you’ll be able to purchase tickets – $45 for VIP (which gets you in at noon) or $35 for general admission (you won’t be able to enter until 1 p.m.).
I wouldn’t wait too long to get your tickets. The 2013 event is expected to sell out in advance like last year’s.
The festival encompasses a variety of craft beers, but the focus is on strong beers high in alcohol content. Many of the participating breweries bring beers made especially for the event.
