Monsterland Mesa AZ

Sad news from downtown Mesa (doesn’t it seem like there’s rarely any other kind from downtown Mesa?): Monsterland is closing next Saturday, Jan. 19.

The venue announced its impending closure on its Facebook page today:

Well guys it’s been a great ride!! We absolutely love all our fans and appreciate you all supporting us in this AMAZING adventure!! But we regret to inform you all that Monsterland will be closing.

Stay tuned for details on our last HURAH on Saturday the 19th!

It will of course be a costume party!! We hope to see you there!

The seasonal Halloween haunted house had reinvented itself as a quirky mix of horror-movie museum, restaurant, and nightclub last April.

Despite the somewhat kitschy decor, Monsterland dished up surprisingly good burgers, sandwiches, and wings. Its 20 beer taps poured only Arizona beers.
