Cartel to tap house-brewed beers

Cartel Coffee Lab will tap its new in-house craft beers Friday at the coffee roaster and espresso bar’s University and Ash location in Tempe.

The two beers – Desert Pale Ale and Coffee Brown – were brewed by Matt Johnson, who also is working on an IPA and an Amber Rye.

Because Johnson is working with a small brewing system, the beers only will be available at the Tempe location for now, but eventually will be sold in Scottsdale and Tucson, too.

To celebrate the release, DJ Sinecura will be spinning vinyl soul and garage jams from 5-8 p.m. Friday.
