Learn how to use Himalayan salt block Thursday at Wedge & Bottle

Learn how to cook with a Himalayan salt block (aka salt plate or salt slab) Thursday at Wedge & Bottle in Ahwatukee.

Mined from deep inside ancient Pakistani mountains, Himalayan salt purportedly has been protected from pollution and therefore is considered the purest salt in the world. In recent years, chefs have begun to use blocks to prepare and serve cold and hot foods.

Chef David Hall from Thyme for a Chef will demonstrates how to infuse flavor into your food by cooking on a Himalayan salt block. He also will show how to use wine to fortify flavors. Samples will be available after the class.

The class, which runs 6:30-8 p.m., is $15. There are only 30 spots; reserve yours by calling 480-704-1255 or stopping at the store.
