Gringo-Star Street Bar with vintage arcade games to open on Mill in May

Gringo-Star Street Bar, a new bar concept featuring vintage arcade games and gourmet food, is scheduled to open in mid-May in downtown Tempe. It will take over the former Blondie’s Sports Bar on the southeast corner on Mill Avenue and Fifth Street.

The 6,500-square-foot venue will have industrial furniture, a wood-clad bar, a state-of-the-art sound system for DJs, a stage and dance floor, and a food-truck-style window serving a gourmet twist on hand-held street foods.

The bar is a partnership between Mill nightlife entrepreneur Julian Wright (La Bocca, Canteen, Handlebar); Stephen Sperry, Sonny Thurman, and Hartley Rodie (American Junkie); Ryan Jocque (Pussycat Lounge); and Chad Landau (Smashboxx).
